BB Trees Ltd - Tree and Woodland Consultancy

Straightforward and honest

Working independently of any tree works contractor, I take a no-nonsense approach to tree and woodland consultancy, always working in the best interests of you and your trees.

Experienced practitioner

I have been a practising arboriculturalist for the last 16 years.

Comprehensive tree and woodland consultancy services

As director and sole arboricultural practitioner for BB Trees Ltd, I carry out Pre-Development Tree Surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements to BS5837, tree health and condition surveys, detailed tree reports and internal decay mapping for a wide range of private and commercial clients. Whether you’re a property owner, estate or farm manager, architect, planner, developer or landscape architect, if you need arboricultural consultancy or advice about trees, I can help.

Arboricultural expert witness

I also act for both individual clients and local authorities as an expert witness and have submitted written and oral evidence before Magistrates, County, High Sherriff’s and the Coroner’s Courts, along with QC Lead Public Planning Inquiries in England and the Isle of Man.

Long term client relationships

I like to establish long term relationships with my clients enabling me to carry out a high proportion of repeat tree consultancy work.

A bit more about me

Having grown up on a rural country estate in Staffordshire, I’ve always been interested in forestry and farming. Initially, it was the scale of forestry operations that appealed to me, but I find that the detailed inspection of trees in an arboricultural setting inspires me to constantly further my knowledge.

Lead tree consultant

I spent 13 years working for a firm of tree surgeons and consultants in Staffordshire where my role was split between general management and leading the tree consultancy team.

Local planning authority experience

Previously, I was the planning-based Arboricultural Officer for Lichfield District Council providing specialist advice to both the general public and the Council.

Extensive practical tree work

I have also undertaken a wide range of freelance practical tree work, including forestry contracting ranging from chainsaw operations to the interpretation of remote sensing for inventory management, contract management, direct labour supervision and forestry management duties such as harvesting, establishment and arboricultural work.

“Thank you so much for all your hard work on my case. I’m sure your expert advice made a huge difference.”
