Trees need managing

Trees are an important part of both the urban and the rural landscapes. To keep them healthy and looking their best, trees often need maintenance.

Tree surveys and reports to inform tree management priorities

Whether you have concerns about a specimen tree in your garden or would like to implement a tree management plan for a small estate, I can carry out a detailed inspection of both individual trees or a larger number of trees.

I’ll record the species, height, girth and life stage, before assessing the tree’s structural and physiological condition and inspecting for the presence of disease or defects. My report will include a detailed specification of recommended remedial tree surgery works. Wherever applicable, these will be specified in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree work – Recommendations.

If necessary I’ll climb the trees to assess them, but usually I’m able to inspect the trees from the ground.

Using the detailed specification for tree surgery works that I’ll include within my report, you’ll be able to identify your tree management priorities and obtain like-for-like quotations from tree surgeons. I’m an independent tree consultant with no contract to any tree surgeon, so my report will be entirely impartial. However, if I do recommend remedial tree surgery works, I can inform you how best to choose an appropriate contractor with suitable experience and qualifications.
